We often produce GMH’s content in short, spasmodic bursts, just to keep ourselves in tune with the subject matter, yanno. It’s like matching your theory with your praxis. Very important when you’re making art, and other stuff.
Last week gifted us quite a few beautiful little pieces of film. We made snail porn (srsly) with The Wonderlust Kid, whose lust for wonder / wander has taken him up and away for awhile, which is sad for our lenses but happy for his feet. His first contribution has just gone up on GMH, so keep your eyes out – he sparkles like the stars, so you’d struggle to miss him. We also met several beautiful new Gentlemen who filled a marathon shooting day with good vibes and jokes about washing your hands after you make a sexy movie. Lawrence, our First Man of the day, turned up with an unfortunate but minor cock-related injury (again, I kid you not), but persevered with the help of a trusty friend / partner-in-crime(s) who was generous enough to join him in the studio. The second got us rather worked up about the possibilities for future collaborations, only to drop the bomb that he’s on Walkabouts and headed outta town. We hope the stars align to bring us and Aporia into the same space again someday. He locked into your gaze with a grace and a sureness that was so gratifying to engage with. Our final booking for the day was a most extraordinary animal called Gabriel, complete with strokable coyote tail (I resisted, he didn’t) and totally generous spirit.
An exhausting but productive week for GMH – keeping up with production and communications while we’re also trying to get the word out about the project and build ourselves a member-ship to sail on the high seas of convincing people that good porn is worth paying for means that it’s a particularly busy time for us, and we are pulling our hairs out a bit, but that’s no worries because Aven Frey puts them in envelopes and makes sculptures with them and dead bug parts and bones and eggshells and things.
